Hello, I really hope someone can help me...
So I've had a malm bed for a few months, and It keeps giving me noise issues with the frame and slats, there's always something that makes noise when I move. Therefore I really want to change this when I have some time, so I wanted to ask if it would be possible to remove the slatted bed base, the mid beam and the side rails, and just place a boxspring that I buy from ikea on the floor and the mattress above it with the frame around both...
Really hope someone can help,
Thanks!
Sure, you can do anything you want.
That IKEA Malm line of furniture is cheap. I have a few dressers I put in the guest room because I know they won't be used that often.
Re-check all the connections. Sometimes these kinds of frames don't get put together right.
@melo92,
Of course you may do whatever you want and works practically as far as supporting the mattress. How will the frame be supported if you remove the pieces you mentioned?
However, if you do place the box spring and mattress on the floor, you would need to check if doing what you suggested voids the warranty.
