Material and Ethical Values
There is a peculiar, or perhaps an entirely obvious parallel between fundamental ethical values and material fundamentals. An ethical value has little or no meaning by itself, and only achieves reality in relation to other values, providing a focus in a human situation or form of society. Equality does not exist, until it is related to another value that points it in the direction of humanity in the singular or plural. In the same way an electron can, so it is said, act like a wave of light or a solid object. It has no reality by itself, only as it relates to space and time, or to another massive object.
@RW Standing,
Thank you for that, as it will make so much difference to my Wednesday.
Now, if you could just help me find my keys....
