Sensor lights

I have a few questions about lights with a rope and no light switch if I can install one instead of just using that rope and if I can installing sensors to replace light switches that are not normal that are in a metal case or have more then one light switch in the same spot I have pics please help if can and thanks a lot in advance plus I have pics of what I mean
