What are public matching funds?
Matching funds are resources that are fixed to be compensated in equal amount of money to resources available from other sources. Matching fund expenses generally arise in circumstances of charity or general public good.
Public matching funds are designed to improve the value of small contributions from persons, making candidates less dependent on large contributions and assisting candidates who do not have access to large moneyed sources.
