hi
i'm wondering if anyone knows of a device or a service to scan a large piece of petrified wood (4000 lbs or so) to show internal cracks and weaknesses.

It depends on what you're trying to find.
@medinabot,
I doubt any medical x-ray would penetrate. You might have to engage an industrial Non Destructive Testing company for a Cobalt 60 report. Ultra sound might tell you something. This is probably going to cost more than you expect.
