l am having probs with a few clues,can anyone please help

158d playacted (P?A???D?D) l can only come up with placarded which l do not think means the clue word
338a Variety (B?I?D)
349a Old (??L?) the hill.

I don't know if the sitters that performed auld lang syne were of the explorers' brand but it didn't prevent me to have a go at it.
