Is the phrase "there is someone for everyone" really true? I've always believed that this phrase usually involves indirect pre-determinism. This idea is usually followed by the other phrase "when you don't look, you'll find the one" which I personally think is just a means to comfort the person who maybe going through a rough patch in their dating life.
I think when it comes to meeting a person through dating, I really think there are three things to finding someone:
1)Opportunity
2)Proximity
3)Common Interest
I'm no dating guru but I learned that when it comes to dating you either have 1, and 2, or 2, and 3. But I wanted to know what people think about this phrase and if whether or not, it is really true.

If it is true, she must be a right dirty cow.
Old George Carlin line: "In North America, a woman has a baby every four minutes. We've got to find this woman and stop her!"

I think this is true in some cases because coming across as desperate and needy is less attractive than coming across as confident, self-reliant and uncompromising.
@Pearlylustre,
I've heard this and I do agree. But the notion "when you don't look, you'll find the one" has more to do with random chance and 1) as opposed to some predestined event. I think one can still be confident and self-reliant and still look for the right one no?
