Happy New Year!, Brothers and Sisters, All ...
When I was trying to come up with something appropriate to say on this first day of a brand new year ... something at once simple and profound ... of a sudden, two brain cells collided, sending forth an array of sparks not unlike those in a pyrotechnic display, and as wisps of smoke descended slowy over the surface of the inward eye, they coalesced in the form of a recollection.
The time: Christmas, 1968
The place: Outer Space
The event: The Apollo 8 Mission

Hmmmm..... are you still drunk? Or maybe it's me.
Such lovely words - but I find myself feeling sad, because I guess we hoped, in a way, that that vision might make a difference...and I was thinking that it had not.
Or did it? I wonder...
