Hi, i had a refrigerator with 110V rating (US made) and I recently moved to a 220V country. In relation to that, I bought a 3000VA electric stabilizer which has 110- 240V input on it. I wonder what kind of electricity consumption will I be looking at with that kind of setup ? i know there should be some loss due to conversion from 110V to 220V, but how can I calculate such electricity consumption (in Watts?)? anybody can help ?

@henkych,
So how much does it cost to send a refrigerator to Europe?

@henkych,
I assume that your reference to a "3000VA electric stabilizer" is actually to a step down transformer that will convert from 220V to 110V AC power. The amount of energy loss will vary as it depends on the design, size and efficiency of the transformer. I expect such a large transformer would be more efficient than a smaller one. You can measure the actual consumption by plugging the 220V side into a power meter while there is no load on the 110V side.
