Auto Feed Scanner/all in one

I have several thousand pages of notes, papers, etc of different sizes but mostly standard letter. I need a good auto feed deulside scanner that can handle different kinds of notes including hand written and will allow for easy minuplation for keeping notes/documents together and/or seperating them into different documents if necessary. the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Scanner for PC and Mac looks like it has all the functionality I need but was wondering if there is something better and possibaly in an all-in-one device for 500 or less?
