This thread is for webcams of the datacenters hosting Able2Know's racks and servers.
Refreshing the page will update the images (no joke, this is really a live feed of the datacenters). You can see the servers in the datacenters (not all are for A2K) and if see any escaping hamsters report them! Very exciting stuff.
The pictures below are not nearly as exciting as the live ones above, sadly the ones below are static and will not provide the hours of facination that the ones above will.
Here are a couple of pictures of the hamster cages. This is where new servers full of fresh hamsters are stored.
Cool. Speaking of cool, there's gotta be a helluva airconditioning system behid all that. Glad its not on my electric bill ... just powering that server farm has gotta run a hefty sum a month, without even thinkin' about the rest of the building.

In the second picture, I am corraling the hamsters. Pity the camera's gone dark.

I tried watching it, but I was dying of suspense. I think I will return to counting the carpet fibers in my office. So much more relaxing...

I'm pathetic.
Those pix make me think of my childhood.
Early 1960's.
Saturdays.
Hamburger had to take care of me.
He'd take me along to the computer room at work. He'd program and de-bug and do stuff with giant reels.
I'd play with punch cards.
I still love the smell of a real computer room.
Pathetic.

Where are my crayons and the pink punch cards?

"deja vue , all over again " ! ebeth is right; it looks somewhat like the first computer i worked on (well, not quite) ! it was an IBM 1401, 16 k of storage , two tape units and a HUGE PRINTER and CARD READER ; and the airconditioner was almost as big as the computer. the tape units had large open tape reels and the tapes often would finish about 90% of a job and decide to rip , argh ! but the printer could play "anchors aweigh " if fed a set of punched cards that had been prepared carefully . even the chairman of the board would on occasion bring some of his buddies into the " IBM-ROOM " and ask us to play "anchors aweigh " for them. (note : in those days -early 60's- it was not called "data processing or info-system"; even my title was "IBM DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR', even though i worked for an insurance company. IBM sure meant something in those days). hbg
