Hello, what are your favorite Word processors to use? I've used Open Office and MS Word, but I've been reading about Adobe Acrobat X of Designer Tech Software... I was wondering how you guys find doing essays directly from a PDF platform?

@Marissa Martinez,
my first at-home word processor

I thought it was super-amazing, and it sort of was, for its time.

@Marissa Martinez,
Hi Marissa

This is weird:

Adobe Acrobat X is from Adobe.

Personally I think creating documents in PDF is a nightmare - I really can't see the point of it. PDFs purpose was hold print format online - it's never been much of an authoring tool. (although Adobe keep trying to make it one). I can't think of one thing it can do that Word can't and quicker and easier.

Like you I mostly use Word and Open Office, but lately I've been using Google docs a lot more, also do a lot in html (mostly Dreamweaver).

Anybody have an opinion on WordPerfect? It was a dream to use back when MS-Dos 3.0 was the hot tip in operating systems. The only good thing I can see about Office is that it can import from Peachtree accounting to Excel.

@roger,
I never used it even back then. I think it's part of Corel Office now.

I remember using Word 2.0 for DOS.

You got a blue screen on start and you had to know to the Escape key than 'T' for transfer and 'L' for load i.e. open a file.

Actually before that I used some word processing software on a Burroughs mainframe. Good god, thank the FSM we got passed those days.
