Tonight Tyson made a pretty convincing and also scary case for global warming.

@Brandon9000,
I didn't watch it. Did he also make a good case for how best to respond to it?

Yes he did. Anybody denying climate change after that hour of information is a dimwit.

He suggested conversion to solar and wind power and gave some historical details about them.

@Brandon9000,
Who was that Frenchman in 1875 Brandon?
He was the first to use solar power.

Solar and wind alone are not enough. We need something like nuclear or fracking to add to the mix.

Phasing out coal makes sense however.

@oralloy,
I have nothing against nuclear power as long as the plant is nowhere near me.

@Brandon9000,
In General, reality and experience shows that living near a coal fired power plant will expose individuals to more radiation than living near a nuclear power plant.

Thorium-232 in the flyash of the coal fired plant is the culprit.

Well, that's not very helpful on it's face.

Everyone who believes climate change is a threat suggests conversion to solar and wind power.

The question I have is whether or not it can be addressed properly, and in time on a global scale, without crippling the economy.

He's not required to offer proposals for detailed solution, but it would be helpful if someone did.

Actually, he addressed that to some extent.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson appeared a couple of years ago in a "Superman" comic book:
