Why the charter school

I don't think they're superior at all and I would hate to see public schools adopt their business model.

Charter schools are plagued with corruption and they don't produce better outcomes for students.

I'm not going to research them, but there are a couple in Harlem that are fantastic. It seems there is much variation.

Some charter schools are fabulous and get tremendous results for their students on a number of levels.

Some charter schools are a mess in every way you can think about.

It's definitely not a black/white situation.

GeneralLee of Abuzz was very active in the development, funding and organization of an awesome charter school that his son eventually went to. Great citizens are coming out of that school.

Here schools started by individuals or local groups are typically called community schools.
