Great Shots! Need to see more shots.
husker, Got my needle ready for the shot; you just need to open up your sleeve a bit.
Beautiful, c.i. this must have been one of the most meaningful trips you and Lucy have taken. After meeting both of you in San Francisco, I can truly imagine you walking through the temples.
The shot of the Japan Sea at sunset is spectacular! I, too, would love to know more about the Gaudi-like structure. It makes me wonder if it represents the destruction and chaos after the bombings in WWII.
Please post more.
And say "hi" to Lucy for me.
Here is the largest wooden structure in the world. This is in Nara, Japan, and the building houses a very large buddha.
The young lady on the lower left side with the dark coat was our guide. We just received a postcard from her yesterday telling us that she would love to visit California some day.
Most of you know that land in Japan is at a premium. You must see this to believe it.
Although we see most Japanese-made cars equal in size to their American brothers, most cars in Japan are small - even Toyota.
Here's one of the most famous temple in Japan.
oh. I see it now. Love it.
Is that snow or blossoms?
satt, Those are cherry blossoms. We hit the right time of year to see Japan's cherry blossoms. It was beautful, and they really added to our pictures. During our last full day in Japan, we were on Mount Koya where we had snow. burrrrr.....
osso, The name of the temple is "Kiyomesudera."

I knew that.
In the morning dark,
On the slope,
Cherry blossoms one can discern,
That have a flavor.
I took them as snow,
Which haven't melted till now,
Hard to get,
Blossoms play so.

oh my ci!
i did not know that you have been to Japan! wow, that is awesome! and i do love the pics so much!
I'm going to China this summer and since I'm a bit of photography myself, I will also share the pics with all of ya.
Zedd, You'll love China. I've been there twice, and still feel I'm missing so much of the country. Maybe in a few years I'll return to China. For some unknown reason, I feel very comfortable there.
Here's the last hurrah for this forum.
