Hello, I've got 3 to go and I'm stuck. 71d = of uniform quality - I have H????E?E??S / 87a = fumes - I have S???T and 85d = debates - I have MO?TS. I'm not sure where I've gone wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks, Lustig. I think Moots is correct - I've never heard of it but the dictionary says "To bring up as a subject for discussion or debate". Now just 2 to go. Thanks again for your help.

All sorted now - I had some lunch and now all of a sudden my brain is working! Anyway, I ended up with homogeneous for 71d and smoke for 87a - I had the wrong answer for 41d so have now corrected it. Thank you.

I should have thought of HOMOGENEOUS. I did think SMOKE but assumed your 'T' was correct so discarded that guess. Congratulations on your finish.
