Problems with ipad Downloads

I have tried downloading a music application onto my ipad which will bring up the title screen but nothing else. It just gives up the ghost and reverts to the main screen. Subsequent attempts on my part to reboot, uninstall and reinstall it have proven futile. Any remedial suggestions would be appreciated.
