Adjective usage-what kind of adjective is this?

If I were to describe something as blue, blue would be acting as an adjective (this I know). But if I were to say "he is a blue," not referring to color, but to a concept, does that kind of adjective usage have a special name?

@Element93,
The word "blue" here is being used as a noun, not an adjective, as for example in the phrase "an Oxford blue", meaning a member of an Oxford university sports team.
It is quite common for words to used as different grammatical components.
For example....I brush (v) my hair with a plastic brush (n).
