Almost an epidemic, the number of failed attempts, perhaps because "Show BBCode Editor" is in a sickly halftone while the meaning of "BBCode" isn't quite clear. Perhaps the typical contributor assumes it means "British Broadcasting Company ode," leaving us to wonder how such a lyric poem might be worded

The ESL is nonetheless advised to try clicking on it

Since the first release in 1998, I kind of thought everybody knew it stands for Bulletin Board Code. There is a big Wikipedia article about it.

I didn't know. Like many abbreviations, I just took it as a new kind of word, with its own meaning.
