Is it ok to provide present to an infant that will be more for mom in 7th month?

I'm an artist and have produced a suitable art item like a baby gift for someone at the office. When it's full I'm attempting to give it but she's only in her 7th month of pregnancy. I'm not an established part of the staff and only focus on an occasional basis so won't be part of the staff gift-giving pool. This month if the gift is given by me will I seem impatient?
