So there is a big scratch on the side of my car, and I don't want to take it to the shop for a few hundred dollars.

I knew a woman who repainted her Chevy coup with a powder puff and oil based paint---I do happen to mention, though, it was 1962 and she painted her Biscayne black.

Does spray paint work well?

@eppixx,
nothing you do yourself is going to make it go away.

you can get a little brush bottle and cover it over so it doesn't rust and it is not so noticeable.

if you try and spray paint it, it's gonna look like some yahoo took a rattle can and spray painted it...

if it was easy to do, it wouldn't cost several hundred bucks.
