Half-finished should be good enough for a guy who set sail not knowing where he was going, and when he got there didn't know where he was and when he got back didn't know where he'd been; all done on borrowed money he never paid back. Is it any wonder the District of Columbia is named for him?

When I first set eyes on this statue, I didn't "see" that it was not finished. I guess I've seen many sculptures that are not "finished," so I assumed that was what the sculpture planned.

Maybe, Debacle's explanation is a good one! I wouldn't know.
