I had a subfolder with my Inbox which I clicked on and dropped into main folder. Emails did not appear but there is an faint outline of an envelope behind the main symbol. How can I reopen these messages

Once more we have someone asking for help without the details needs like what email software program are you using or what web mail interfaced are you using?
