I think it wasn't pretaped. The speech was written before Obama delivered his speech. It was based on a speech draft so that Rubio's speech was off. But it wasn't pre-taped. Or at least that's my best understanding of it.

I read the site you provided a link for. Now ask yourself this, what happened in the first year or so of Bush's office? 9-11 and the cook the books scandal took place within one year of Bush taking office. You don't think this had an effect on the promises he made before the election?

What is Obama's excuse? There have been no surprises for Obama like Bush had to deal with, so why hasn't he closed Gitmo, ended the war in Afghanistan, lowered the deficit, and put a halt to the debt ceiling. After all in 2006 he said that having to raise the debt ceiling was a failure of leadership. How many times has he requested the ceiling to be raised? Failure indeed!
