THERE ARE 7 LADIES EACH HAVING 7 BAGS FILLED WITH 7 CATS AND 1 KITTEN FOR EACH CAT. WHAT IS THE TOTAL NO. OF CATS AND KITTENS?

I met a man with seven wives
Every wife had seven sacks
Every sack had seven cats
Every cat had seven kits
Kits, cats, sacks, wives.
How many were going to St Ives?

Assuming each bag has seven cats and seven kits, the answer would be 686.
