Thinking Games for Kids

Board games and puzzles can help children learn to think logically and creatively. Many games require children to come up with solutions to problems or puzzles using logic, deductive reasoning, trial and error, or quick thinking. These more challenging board games also often appeal to adults, making it easy for the whole family to play together.

In Mastermind, one player makes a code using colored pegs, and the other player must break that code. The code maker selects four pegs to arrange in the code space behind the shield so that the other player cannot see it. The code maker can use all different colors in the code, or she can use the same color more than once.
