Hello Guys,
With how much mail goes out each day, shipping cookies properly is very important. When it comes to the United States Post Office, their only restriction on food is that it be nonperishable, something that the FDA does not consider cookies to be. Packaging cookies properly for shipment is important so that your cookies will arrive at their destination as fresh as the day that you made them.
1. Bake the cookies to be sent. It is best to bake them the same day that you plan to send them so that they will maintain as much of their freshness as possible.
2. Wrap the cookies in plastic wrap once they are cool. This will help keep them fresh while being shipped.
3. Place wrapped cookies in a metal container with a lid. Securely attach the tin to insure that no air or moisture will get into the cookies, potentially molding them.
4. Wrap the tin of cookies in bubble wrap so that it sits snugly in a shipping box. Pack any extra bubble wrap around the tin so that it can't move in the box.
5. Tape up the box with packaging tape. Address the box with a return address and the person that it is going to. Place a fragile sticker on the box so that the people at the United States Post Office will know to be careful with the package.
Thanks and Regards
