Hi,
This puzzle is certainly not my forte. I am stuck on 8 down, I have bricklayer for 5 across, meaning 8 down starts with a Y, and 22 across I have violet as the answer. I am also stuck on 2 down, I have P?E???N? and 16 across, ????S. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for help. Two left. 14 down, concealed a tin-opener in Lent - ?A?E?? and 25 across, misrepresented the late track competitor ???L?T?.
