Why do we torture ourselves with platform shoes?

I love platform shoes, but they are pure torture to wear! I wear them anyway because I'm young and beautiful and stylish. Why do you wear them?

No woman I knew well wore them. Ín the mid-to-late 70s, a few short guys wore them. Podiatrists love them because they made a good living from them
(fixing ruined feet).

I think you are the same as when you don't wear those shoes, just beautiful and stylish, but short-ER nevertheless.
