my colossus stinker 68d ore vein only has 4 letters as the answer , something wrong somewhere ??

Put your glasses on and give us the right clue philcottie. As Jacaranda said, 68d is ore vein and the answer for that is SEAM. Where you get thumbnail from is beyond me.

Sorry guys the clue is 88 dn and the clue is Concise with an answer of Thumbnail which is correct.I should have gone to Specsavers because these old eyes are past thier use by date,will try to take more care in future.philcottie

Glad we got that sorted out. I have trouble reading the clues and numbers in the colossus have to use a magnifier most of the time because of the mistakes I was making. Good Luck with your entry.

We all have to get there at some stage,my eyes are always giving trouble and yes l have been to specsavers but that still hasn't prevented me from eye probs,l love doing crosswords and l do them with my left eye shut and l also use a magnifier,thats the trouble of growing old, hey ho what it was to be young ,

At least we can joke about it all and I'm afraid there is no putting back the clock and Colossus would have to be one of the worst for grid square sizes still carry on and do the best we can.philcottie.
