The absurdity of Perfection

Although some definition of a perfect society is necessary, in order to define end value, it may be doubted that perfection can really exist.
In this Olympic season we have various events for which perfect scores are provided. This is meaningful if points are given for specific actions with a total of say ten, and therefore perfection is ten out of ten. We are simply using the term to signify a limited quantity.
The problem arises where people slide from that kind of perfection, and probably without understanding, to an assumption that perfection exists in all things. In particular in moral behaviour. But if the 'points. available are virtually infinite the term perfection is meaningless. If perfection is doing all good and avoiding all harm in a world that is virtually infinite in complexity, with the ultimate outcome of actions unpredictable, then perfection is an absurd idea. Only 'god' can be perfect, by virtue of this concept encompassing everything.

Depends on what you mean by “perfect”. Obviously She can do only what’s possible, leaving loose ends like volcanoes, disease, crime, and eventually dooming us when the sun burns out if we don’t destroy ourselves first

Inasmuch as the pantheistic view is concerned, quite right
