Thanks so much Lustig. I had in my mind the word riant for cheerful as
Lovatts have used it before but it wasn't in my dictionary. I have never
heard of the word raft used in the context for a large amount but will bow to
your superior knowledge.

The word "riant" comes from the French, meaning "to laugh." Some dictionaries have it, some don't; it's fairly rare.
