Lookit, all I see is a bunch of weeping about Skin or Finnie or some such who will be back in a moon or two, I have left the board a couple of hundred times and did I get a party or a pile of goodbye notes??? welll, did I?

Actually, yes, but that's not the point.

The point is I may be gone until morning maybe until after I see Thomas after the long run in the park tomorrow and I need to know:

Will there be some sort of hole in your soul without me?

@Joe Nation,
Actually, J, I thought you were gone for quite a while a bunch of months ago. Did I remonstrate? No. I trust you to talk here.

@Eva,
If he doesn't want to leave, he doesn't have to. I don't see how it's anyone's business but his.

If I knew you were going I'd baked a cake for everyone else remaining here in Gotham City.

@ehBeth,
streusel
I always thought streusel was a made up word.
Somebody screwed up the recipe and made really runny icing
and when they were asked about it they tried to make it seem as if
it was on purpose that there were only streaks of icing.

Joe(Icing should cover everything, even green beans)Nation

@Joe Nation,
streusel isn't icing - it's the clumpy crumbs that you find on tea and coffee cakes

making good streusel is a real art

(icing is nasty nasty nasty stuff)

You get both after funerals (ask hamburger)

Just 2 km away from, is a really good cookie factory. They make these Streuselplätzchen

@Ragman,
Madeline Kahn was a genius. Did you ever hear her really sing?
There must be a YouTube somewhere.
She was pretty amazing.

She is one of my six degrees people.
She was in Blazing Saddles with Clevon Little.
Clevon Little was the best friend of my best friend, Annie.
I met Clevon once.

Both Clevon and Madeline were gone too soon.

Madeline taught herself to sing arias. Put the records on and sang with them.
Then, would go out to some singing waitress restaurant job and stop the place cold.
(They made her quit doing it at one place, "Just sing show tunes, okay?" )

So, goodbye to those gone too soon.

Joe(I'll be here all weekend. Tip your waitstaff)Nation

@Walter Hinteler,
Ebeth and Walter:
Thank you for the re-education on streusel.

I guess I haven't been going to enough funerals lately.

I remember know.....butter and flour and sugar and cinnamon or almonds chopped up really fine.

So,
What do you call the drippy white icing stuff?

@Walter Hinteler,
Streuselkuchen is a very particular recipe - one that the Germans can keep (blech). Butterkuchen is another thing that can stay on the other side of the Atlantic.

Streusel is used on a lot of different cakes and flans. Streusel is a good thing. Entenmann's used to make some gooooood streusel.
