1980's-90's Marlboro Contest?

I was a smoker in the 80's and 90's for a few years and bought Marlboro (Red Pack) In one of my packs one day I got a cigarette which at the base of the filter (where the actual tobacco starts) I had a foil square about 1/4inch by 1/4 inch glued around the cigarette with a Capitalized 'M' on it. To this day I still have the cigarette and pack it was in....Was this for any contest in the late 80's, early 90's. It has always made me wonder.
