what,s the center of a square that has twelve sides and was the first gift with one rule?

The poor grammar could imply that the "it" was a twelve sided object in a square (or piazza) such as a campanile or church. e.g.

or maybe it is a reference to the Pythagorean obsession with the dodecahedron.

yes, I did think of that -- that the 'square' was not, in fact, a square in the geometric sense but a central location in the architectural sense. Is a 12-sided piazza particularly unusual? I have no idea.
