what is the best way to sell ones comic books?

I don't have an extensive collection of comic books but I have a few collectibles. So where is the best place to sell my comics?

Is Ebay still a viable method? How crowded is the auction site these days with comic book sellers? Is fraudulent buyers something to worry about?

Benefits of selling online: possible higher price of sales
Cons: shipping costs and time; they may not get any bids and not sell;

I know for sake of ease, another route is to take the books to a brick and mortar comicbook store.
Benefits: most likely to get a sale; no shipping costs or inconvenience;
Cons: likely get less money for each item;

What am I missing pro and con wise?

@Rockhead,
I was thinking on some kind of PayPal or attempt to pay by check scheme.

@tsarstepan,
once you advertise, you put yourself in harm's area code.

be careful and if it looks too good to be true, it is...

@Rockhead,
Still? What would be the best way to sell comic books? Some are over 10 years old and in great condition.

@tsarstepan,
can you contact a local group of enthusiasts?

aren't you in NYC?

surely there is a comic undergound there...

(dint mean to call you Shirley, btw)

@Rockhead,
I guess that might be the way to pull this off. Little intimidated about the process of finding such a cabal of true comic geeks.

@tsarstepan,
Some day, Tsar, I gotta tell you about my addiction to comic books...and the incredibly large collection I had of them back in the 1940's.

We would trade 'em...but eventually we would throw them away.

I estimate I have thrown away several hundreds of thousands of dollars over my life...almost all of it before I was 12.

Find a coming comic convention and rent a table.

@edgarblythe,
I'd be the laughing stock of the convention floor. I don't have enough comics to justify renting a barstool let alone a table or a third of a table....
