thank you lustig for your quick answer and abolish is probably right but for that to be the "D" comes from melody the clue for which DULCET with starting letters of MEL??? at present is MELODY so if you can come up for another word
for dulcet tones with starters of MEL??? then it is back to the drawing board
unless a subscriber can help.philcottie.

Thanks for that lustigbut I unfortunaately have 2 more ,namely:-
128 dn 128 dn clue is SUBARCTIC(6) I have ?OREAL could this be BOREAL.
127 ac clue is Health-food confection(5) I have CA?O? and if the subarctic is BOEAL then this could be CAROB.

BOREAL and CAROB both sound right. They answer to the eaings of the clues. (Says he without having seenthe magazine Smile)
