I have had several icons on my desktop from Day One, and never had any problems until today. I swear I didn't touch anything.... the icons were just no longer there. I tried adding more, and each time I tried ... nothing... the desktop is as clean as a whistle. It's like my 'wallpaper' is acting like a Black Hole. If anyone can shed any light on this problem trust me, it will be much appreciated.

All is revealed.... not long after I posted this plea for help I stumbled upon the solution all by myself... guess I paniced a bit... big sighs.

press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, open task manager and select "new task" then enter "explorer" in the option, everything will be shown

I have no idea regarding to this...when i have got ant thing about it, I will be share with you....
Thay might have gotten too close
to the icon for the "trash bin".
