It looks like they're going for that crossword favorite arete, which is just a sharp mountain ridge, rather than a glacial ridge, which is an esker. blanched is probably paled. It's definitely Turn of the Screw, you've got a wrong letter in there. carriage attendant is outrider. 251d prosody. 61a could be sub rosa, if the sub is in the clue itself. library enclosure is a carrel.
