Can't seem to get the last few in these 3, can anyone help?
In Big
141a Quitter, de-e-t-s_
144d Inpudent, per- last letter has to be the last letter of the above
69d Fanatical, e-t-g-e
In Goliathon
136d Scored on par, a--e-a-ed, is it averaged?
In Demon
1a Computer information bank, --t-base
1d Cat's paw, --p-s
and last but not least
12a Hackles, dr-s-l-s
Thanks in advance.
You understand we Yanks don't get the actual puzzles, so sometimes we think you might have some wrong letters, but we can't check
First one "deserter" would fit, 2nd one "pert" (tho last letters don't line up)
try also "extreme" (fanatical)
database--that one is obvious
maybe "bristles" for "hackles"
@snakewoman,
Have all the answer snakewoman but going out right now, will be back later.
oh, Dutchy, you teaser, you.
@snakewoman,
Hi snakewoman, back from my night out and here are your answers:
Big.
141a = DEFEATIST
144d = THERE IS NO 144d!!!! Maybe you mean 133d which is PERT
69d = EXTREME
Goliathon
136d = AVERAGED
Demon
1a = DATABASE
1d = DUPES
12a = BRISTLES
You done pretty well without the grids Jack.
Good luck.
@MontereyJack,
You and Duchy seem to be in a bit of a competition - best laugh I've had in ages (maybe I should go out more?)
Thanks heaps. The Snakewoman of Glenlyon.
@Dutchy,
Are you and Jack competing these days? I'm still laughing it's turning into a comedy act.
Thanks heaps. Snakewoman of Glenlyon
@snakewoman,
Q'land is a bit far away for me snakewoman otherwise I'll take you out.
@Dutchy,
Well I'm up there in March Dutchy - over to you!
@Dutchy,
Just discovered there's a Glenlyon in Q'land. Learn something every day don't you? I'm actually in Glenlyon, Victoria.
@snakewoman,
Well you're "up here" in March you say, where is up here?
Been close to you a couple of years ago when I travelled from Ballarat to Bendigo along the Midlands Highway.
@Dutchy,
I was obviously on the wrong track and thought that you were in Q'land, which is where I'm heading for a break in March. You must have gone through Daylesford travelling from Ballarat to Bendigo. Glenlyon is a great little village off the Midland Highway about 12 k out of Daylesford - lots of snakes around here. I looked up Glenlyon in Queensland and it looks like it's out the back of beyond, way past the last black stump!
@snakewoman,
Will drop in for a cuppa next time I'm up your way. My 'Black Stump" is at Poonindie (SA).
Have a great holiday in Q'land but keep away from the flooded areas.
@Dutchy,
Good grief, you are beyond another black stump. I've been through Port Augusta on the way to Alice Springs, but haven't driven any further west. I'm visiting a couple of friends in Q'land and luckily they're not in the flooded areas. I'll put the kettle on if you ever head this way!
@snakewoman,
Kidding about Poonindie as my stamping ground but I did get the idea about the "Black Stump" from there as there is a real one in that town, also in Cowell a hundred odd kilometres up the road. I often drive that way as I have a son and family living in Port Lincoln. My homeground is Adelaide.
@Dutchy,
Boy Dutchy, you're a worry!
@snakewoman,
You're getting to know me.
