Same here, same old same old. There ae some holdouts but it is a bunker mentality over there at the moment.

I don't get it. There were dozens and dozens of people working for Abuzz? What were they doing? Surely not monitoring the posts to maintain any standard of civility.

I honestly thought the site had been on auto pilot for years...

The date of that article is April 2001. By mid 2001 it was on autopilot.

When I hear of improvements and changes to abuzz, I can't help thinking of "Titanic" and "deck chairs."

I have given in to curiosity and jumped over to the Abuzz site. Straight away I found a very pertinent interaction:

What is the Population of Abuzz These Days?
How many members are still active, that we write to?
Just curious--since we no longer get a roster.

I'm active off and on, depending on my energy levels. I think I
will celebrate my 3rd anniversary in March. I engage strictly
for entertainment, but I do address serious issues from time to
time. Anybody else????

Babbeltje
I am active depending upon how busy I am.

I have been a member from the beginning, but had to re-register
with a new ID about a year ago..... my original ID would noy
respond to my password.

I enjoy political discussions; I do not live full-time int the US
anymore, and I value the chance to discuss uniquely American
issues.
Good Question!!!

Hi - January 3rd marked my fourth year on Abuzz - it has been off
and on - depending on my other obligations. I like the
entertaining part of abuzz and also do serious discussions as
well - never political or religious -- Abuzz suits me fine and I
have not found any other forum that comes close - sure there are
certain things we have to put up with but I know well how to use
my delete key and I can really scroll fast when needed - LOL -

Well, that's THREE.

The original author was Chaiyah, who seems to be able to ask sensible questions and may even have developed a sense of irony!

I still start my internet day at Abuzz.
Rainforest, ski lodge, a few of cobalt's ongoing threads. It's home.

littlek went to meet eric foster at abuzz, just as all the staff was being let go. That's how some of us got mugs and pens and stuff.

eric's back as a volunteer moderator as he can. he occasionally manages to pull some particularly offensive posts and threads.
