62A - assuming your letters are right, I believe the only word that can fit is efficacious

36A = Rouleau
28D = prosaic
64D = testudo
117A = sinai
62A = fractious

My problem is 63D for which I have adamant (clue resolute) but I believe 78 across to clique but with adamant I have the letters c_a_ue, clue is sycophantic group - anyone help please

48d effective (clue) = efficacious that makes 62a fractious (clue = cantankerous) and that fits with others - see other response
