There could be two answers to this one: Clue 212d "sacred effigies".
I have idols and my friend has icons. Which one do you think is correct?

An idol is a false god, wheras an ICON is a sacred image, I reckon your friend is correct.

Not telling that it could not be "icons" but your comment is obviously biased by religion.

You need to define "false" and then "real" gods.

Look at phrases like this: "sacred effigies of the gods in Greece", from famous books..
