What is the meaning of the family name "blum"? Where does it come from?
Why can't you research - at least google this? I did and I know the answer. Just do the work.

I believe it's Yiddish for "flower," related to the German
Blume.

Joe is quite right. It's cognate to the English word "bloom." Various spellings, same meaning.
