l am having trouble with 276d sl unit of currency ,(HER??)AND 299a 17th century massacre, it should be GLENCOE, but the first letter G should come on the end of the 276d clue,rather confusing, could not fathom it out so have come to ask all you clever clogs out there to see if you can help, would be very grateful for help,thanks

My guess to get the G, is that unit of currency could be BEING

l must apologise for putting wrong word down for 276d it should readSI unit of frequency,which of course is HERTZ, SO THat means that the beginning letter of 299a is z and for the life of me l cannot find a 17th century scottish massacre that begins with Z, can any brainboxs out there help me PLEASE.

Boy o boy is my face red, l feel such a fool, l have often said on this forum that l reckon l am on my way to being completely gaga, l have found that l was looking at completely wrong clue, 78d is certainly HERTZ, and heres the rub, clue 296a is gentle breeze,which l found to be ZEPHYR,so sorry to have messed up AGAIN, thanks to all of you who tried to help this dumb idiot. /:-(
