Your reference to "the future" may be irrelevant. There are already concepts of "holistic consciousness", or cognition extending beyond the individual.. If you are talking about "the Borg Collectives" (a la Star Trek) I think you will need to wait for assimilation or genetic mutation. In either case resistance may not be futile !
