@JGoldman10,
Am I? You obviously think ignore means something different from everybody else. There's that Humpty Dumpty outlook again.

Drawing a funny animal IMO is more fun that drawing a human character. Human characters can get boring. Human characters tend to have limited palettes.

@JGoldman10,
Steve Bell's had a lot of fun drawing Cameron.

Then again, he spends all his time drawing cartoons, not 'researching' and shouting at people.

@izzythepush,
Tell that to the people at Warner Bros., Disney or some other animation/comic book companies who make funny animal cartoons and comics.

That's right, they make cartoons. They don't talk about it all the time, and shout at people.

@izzythepush,
It takes a TEAM of ARTISTS and WRITERS to make a cartoon or comic book. Those people have what they want or need and what they want to do ALREADY PLANNED OUT AHEAD OF TIME BECAUSE A TEAM PUTS THE STUFF TOGETHER.

THEY CAN AFFORD IT.

IF ONE PERSON IS MAKING A COMIC BOOK OR A CARTOON IT IS BECAUSE HE CAN AFFORD IT AND HAS THE RESOURCES HE NEEDS.

I AM ONE PERSON TRYING TO WRITE AND DRAW MY COMICS MYSELF.

@JGoldman10,
All you need is a pencil and a drawing pad. Has your research not uncovered that yet?

@izzythepush,
SIGH- you NEED MONEY, RESOURCES and MATERIALS to flesh it out and develop it.

You have to SCRIPT your comics and then pencil and ink the artwork.

I HAVE SAID ALL THIS BEFORE.

@JGoldman10,
I didn't need any of that to write my novel, but then again I wrote it, I didn't just talk about it.

Are there any local newspapers, ones which aren't connected to syndication? Is it possible to get them to take a look at some work of yours, maybe get a weekly submission going? If that proves successful, word of mouth gets around, larger papers notice your work, are intrigued/interested and have a talk with you about taking it national.

You already have the basics. You have Internet access to research, you have pencil and paper to sketch some basic figures, you can write dialogue for characters....since you have a computer you can create and store the information for future usage.
