Listening to a program about a new trend of Americans crossing or attempting to cross the US/Canadian border looking for employment.

Quote:
Jack Jedwab, executive director of the Association for Canadian Studies, talks about the trend of Americans moving to Canada looking for work and explains what it is about the Canadian economy that's so attractive.

Question to Americans: Would you move indefinitely to Canada for work, residence, et al?
Question to Canadians: Should Canada build a wall t0 keep us Americans out of your lovely country to keep us from taking your jobs?
Question to Mexicans: Does this flippant analogical comparison offend you?

It might depend on the weather, and how long winter were going to last.

Question to Americans: Would you be at all surprised if you were firmly returned to your country of origin?

Answer: Of course not. It is their country, and they have a right to control immigration. I would be grateful they didn't also slap me with a fine and prison sentence.

@roger,
For me? It better be a very livable wage and a city that gets a good deal of limited theatrical releases (foreign language films and independent movies).

So perhaps Toronto would be a nice change of pace from NYC. But this desire to move is quite hypothetical at best.

@tsarstepan,
I once considered moving to Vancouver, but I think one has to have some large competence to get a visa, and I was winding down as a landarch. Anyway, I didn't pursue it.
