You did not state which Number Baffler, but you could have J bar L bar or
T bar. I would go for T bar

Wrong on this occasion James.! The L from the crossword PURCELL makes it LBAR! btw the Lovatt issue is No. 93, Aust. Edition.

Lustig Andrei Lovatts have a habit of putting in tricky clues with multiple answers occasionally, this is one of them, as on first view T-Bar is the obvious answer.
