I love the softness of sheepskin rugs, and I have been reading that items made of natural sheepskin are naturally hypo-allergenic and that they repel dirt and allergens. Does anyone know of any research data that substantiates or refutes these claims?
@Sheepskin Rugs Lady,
the tanning process will remove allwergens but once the skins are used on the floors, like any deep pile rug, they will gather new ones. We have several throws and sheepskin rugs in a studio room and we frequently just sack out on te rugs , they are so soft and comfy. Mrs F washes them by hand at least twiv=ce a year in a woolite solution and by hand.
